In this photo we used a can light cover in order to prevent air from seeping into the attic from the living space via a high hat light fixture. The fixture is covered with a fire-proof cover and the perimeter is air sealed using Zyp Foam.
Dense packing exterior facing walls with cellulose is a method of insulation that is often performed in homes. Dense packing walls helps to keep rooms cool in summer and warm in winter. It also helps to mitigate the energy your home loses. Poorly insulated walls often cause heating and cooling equipment to work harder in order to maintain the desired temperature of the home.
In this particular home, we dense packed the walls from outside by removing the siding and cutting small holes into the walls and blowing the cellulose into the wall with hoses. Once the wall is filled with cellulose, the holes are patched and the siding is replaced, leaving no visual trace of the work that was performed.
In homes where the siding cannot be removed, dense packing can also be done from inside the home.
For this large installation we integrated the new electric system with their old system still in place as back up. Here we did a mix of ducted and ductless units for whole home coverage.
We installed a central AC and heating system in this home. We installed a Daikin cold climate outdoor condenser and paired it with ducted air handlers. To accompany the ducted air handler we installed brand new duct work. This entire project qualified for a clean heat rebate from Con Ed which saved the customer thousands of dollars.
We installed Bosch condensers and ducted indoor air handlers. We also integrated the customer's old furnace into the project to use as a back up in the case of an emergency. This project was eligible for a Con Ed rebate that covered over 75% of the total project's cost!
We installed two Bosch outdoor condensers. They were paired with ducted indoor air handlers. This is one of many combinations of energy efficient equipment that qualifies for a Con Ed clean heat rebate.
